Useful Tests

If you have a patient in need of review these investigations may help guide their management:
 

PSA elevation

  • A repeat PSA to confirm the reading

  • Urine MCS

  • US KUB

 

Renal Masses

  • A contrast enhanced CT , ideally a CT IVP

  • Renal function

Bladder Lesions / Haematuria

  • Urine MCS

  • Urine Cytology x 3

  • PSA (in men)

  • US KUB 

  • A contrast enhanced CT IVP

​

Genital Masses

  • A scrotal US 

  • A CT Chest Abdomen Pelvis (for staging where cancer is supected)

  • Tumour markers: Alpha-Foetoprotein, Beta-HCG, LDH

  • Baseline bloods: EUC, LFT, FBC

​

Adrenal Lesions

  • A dedicated Adrenal Protocol CT (for characterisation)

  • Serum metanephrines and normetanephrines, EUC, cortisol

​

Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms

  • An IPSS

  • PSA

  • Urine MCS

  • US KUB

 

Renal Stones

  • CT KUB

  • Urine MCS

  • Baseline Bloods: EUC, FBC, LFT, CMP, Uric Acid
