DR EDWARD LATIF

MBBS, BSc(Med), FRACS (Urol)

Dr Edward Latif is a Urological and Robotic Surgeon based on the Central Coast of NSW. He was instrumental in bringing robotic surgery to the coast, performing the first ever robotic operation at Gosford Private Hospital in 2021.

​

Dr Latif graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2009 and completed his basic training at St George Hospital in Sydney from 2010-2011, before commencing specialist urological training.

​

This was completed across major hospitals throughout New South Wales and Queensland, including the Central Coast.​​ His training emphasised urological cancer surgery, endourology, stone management and functional urology.

 

Dr Latif completed his training in 2018 before undertaking a Fellowship in open, laparoscopic and robotic cancer surgery at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

 

He then undertook a dedicated Uro-oncology Robotic Surgical Fellowship in 2019-2020 at Kent and Canterbury Hospital in the United Kingdom where he specialised in robotic prostate, kidney and bladder surgery.

​

Dr Latif maintains an active presence within the urological community within Australia and internationally, staying up to date on emerging developments in the field. This enables him to provide his patients with the latest management and treatment options.

​

Since 2020, Dr Latif has been living and working on the Coast, and is active in the local community including hosting Prostate Cancer Foundation support groups and GP education. He is the current Central Coast Training Supervisor for the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand/Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

​

Dr Latif strongly believes in working with you to ensure your understanding of your diagnosis, and sharing the decision making process with you for your treatment plan.

His special interests include:

​

  • All robotic urological procedures

  • Renal masses and cancers

  • Prostate cancer management

  • Bladder cancer

  • Testicular cancer

  • Haematuria

  • Kidney stones

  • Lower urinary tract symptoms

  • Benign prostatic hyperplasia

​

Dr Latif operates at Gosford Public Hospital, Wyong Public Hospital and Gosford Private Hospital.

OUTSIDE OF WORK

Edward enjoys spending time with his friends and family, including his two labradors Truffle and Rocket.

​

He has a variety of hobbies including cooking, reading, music and travel.  Edward loves sports including tennis and motorsports.
