What is robotic surgery?

Robotic surgery is leading the way in minimally invasive treatment.  You may be surprised to hear that the Davinci robot, first launched in the USA in 2000 made its way to Australia in 2003.  Over the past 20 years the robot has slowly and steadily spread to become the current standard of care for Urological cancer surgery.

At Gosford Private Hospital we have a Davinci Xi system, the leading robotic platform in Australia.  It allows us to perform all manner of procedures from radical prostatectomy to partial nephrectomy and complex reconstructive operations.

Dr Latif has received training in Robotic Surgery in Australia and in the UK, and was the first Fellowship trained robotic surgeon on the Central Coast, even performing the first robotic surgery in Gosford.

He is passionate about using this technology to optimise patient outcomes and looks forward to facilitating your treatment.
